[ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE]
String the Arts, a string orchestra that has been holding regular concerts every year since its founding in 2004 and showcasing the charm of string instruments, presents its 19th regular concert and 2026 season opener.
String the Arts is a string orchestra formed by young string musicians gathered around Choi Seok-hoon, the music director and conductor. Through thoughtful interpretations and passionate performances, the ensemble has consistently communicated with audiences.
This regular concert stands out for its striking contrast between romanticism and modernity. In Part 1, clarinetist Lee Jin-a performs as a soloist in Weber's Clarinet Quintet, delivering brilliant and lyrical melodies. In Part 2, the orchestra performs Bartók's Divertimento, composed just before World War II, which blends period tensions with folk vitality, conveying the intense energy unique to a string orchestra. Audiences will experience not only the beauty of music but also the power of art to breathe in harmony with the times through the rich sonorities created by the string orchestra.
