[ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE]
The Chorus Village with Music was founded in 1996 under the leadership of Yi Kang-suk, the founding artistic director (former founding president of Korea National University of the Arts), with the vision of "depicting the beauty of the Korean language through chorus and sharing it with the world." The organization aims to develop and promote Korean choral music and grow into a world-renowned chorus. Currently, it operates with music professionals including Yi Geon-yong (2nd artistic director, former president of Korea National University of the Arts), Hong Seung-chan (planning director, professor of arts management at Korea National University of the Arts), Hong Jun-chul (music director, former distinguished professor at Sungkonghoe University), and Kim Hong-soo (conductor, current professor in the conducting department at Korea National University of the Arts), along with approximately 60 choir members. Through 22 regular concerts and various collaborative and joint performances, the chorus has been dedicated to promoting Korean choral music widely. Through the 23rd regular concert, the group plans to premiere composer Kim Joon-beom's cantata "The Case of the Missing Three Birth Goddesses" and various original choral works.
