[Performance Introduction]
Cellist Kian Soltani, who has garnered attention on the world stage for his "profound musicality and distinctive presence," and pianist Park Jae-hong, who has rapidly expanded his reputation through international competitions, present a duo recital.
Soltani, a resident artist of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, is a performer praised by The Times as a "cellist to watch" and by Gramophone as "perfection itself." As an exclusive Deutsche Grammophon artist, he has collaborated with world-class orchestras including the Berlin Staatskapelle, Munich Philharmonic, and NHK Symphony.
Park Jae-hong gained international recognition by winning the 2021 Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition along with four special awards, and has demonstrated his musical prowess through victories at the Cleveland International Young Artist Piano Competition and the Gina Bachauer Competition.
In this performance, a program spanning Reza Vali, Schubert, and Rachmaninov naturally reveals each artist's musical roots and interpretations. Soltani's cello, possessing deep lyricism and refined technique, and Park Jae-hong's piano, featuring a wide range of tones and solid structural sense, create a densely woven ensemble through intimate musical dialogue. This duo recital, where experience accumulated on the international stage meets mature musicality, will be a time that offers the depth of authentic chamber music beyond mere brilliance.
