[PERFORMANCE INTRODUCTION]
A Time That Expands from Listening to Understanding
Lecture Concert is an educational concert format that explores diverse musical genres—from classical to opera, musical, Latin classical (tango), and jazz—through expert commentary and live performance.
The concert breaks down the origins, backgrounds, and histories of each genre, along with composers' representative works, in an easy and entertaining manner. Centered around popular pieces, it offers a multidimensional experience that can be enjoyed by both beginners and enthusiasts of each genre. Four independent performances connect organically, helping audiences naturally understand and travel through the vast world of music. The concert is designed so that audiences can feel music more intimately in their daily lives. Through coffee and cookies provided before the performance, along with entertaining and fascinating commentary and musical performance, we wish to present audiences with a special morning.
In the opera and musical segments, a piano trio and vocal ensemble share the stage to explore the birth of opera and the dramatic emotional expression created by arias. This is followed by a comparison of the development process of musical theatre with opera and their differences, explaining how musical numbers drive the narrative forward. This is an opportunity to directly witness how drama and music breathe together within a single work.
