Pianist Kim Song-hyun, who has garnered attention in the music world by winning the 2024 New York Liszt International Piano Competition and making his Carnegie Hall Stern Auditorium debut, as well as being runner-up at the 2023 Yun Isang International Music Competition with two special awards and receiving the unanimous award in the Piano category at the 12th Shinhan Music Awards, releases his second album "TIMESCAPE" (Landscape of Time) and presents a commemorative performance.
The title "TIMESCAPE," both the album and concert name, is a portmanteau of Time and Landscape, signifying the inner landscape encountered within the flow of time. This album contains 12 pieces of music, 12 written passages, and 12 photographs following the progression of 12 months. All selections, performances, writings, and photographs originate from Kim Song-hyun's hands, revealing his journey transcending performer to artist. This special concert not only features album tracks but also incorporates works by Haydn, Liszt, Stephen Hough, and Rachmaninoff, expanding the contemplative perspective of "TIMESCAPE" more deeply and multidimensionally.
The program poses a question: What landscape do the times we have passed through leave behind? Kim Song-hyun's music becomes multiple answers to this question, and will remain in each listener's heart long after the stage concludes.
