[PERFORMANCE INTRODUCTION]
Youngdo Culture and Arts Center will present a lecture concert series titled "The Meeting of Art and Opera" on Saturday, March 28 at 11:00 AM in Jeol-Young Hall (small performance venue).
This performance is part of the Youngdo Culture and Arts Center's signature humanities and arts fusion program that has continued since 2020, and is a special presentation that highlights both European art history and operatic masterpieces. In 2026, the program is structured around the theme of "The Meeting of Art and Opera," delivering both humanistic insight and artistic inspiration simultaneously.
On this stage, featuring representative opera works by Giacomo Puccini, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Franz Lehár, the program will also introduce masterpieces by El Greco, Pieter Bruegel, and Gustav Klimt.
What makes this lecture concert particularly special is that it connects not only with cultural lectures but also with a special exhibition of Gustav Klimt replicas. The performance is linked with the first-phase lecture program running throughout March, and will be presented in a comprehensive concert format combining live performances and commentary centered on the operas and artworks covered in the lectures. Audiences will be able to enjoy a deeper appreciation by understanding the historical background and artistic significance of the works. Prepared as a high-quality cultural content where audiences can enjoy both classical music and Western art simultaneously, this program aims to enhance the cultural literacy of residents and expand their horizon for artistic appreciation.
